Your doing the upgrade install with that method... Which sometime it does give issues.
Put the windows 7 disk into the drive. Reboot the pc and then select the boot menu option select boot from CD/DVD rom drive. Or if the bios is set to boot from cd/dvd rom first then the hard drive. It will say a message saying To boot from CD/DVD press and key. Press a key in 5 seconds before it starts to boot from the Hard drive.
This will start windows 7 install which you can delete windows vista by deleting all partitions and do a fresh install of 7.. Do the Custom install and not the upgrade so you can remove Windows VISTA.
The hard part is to make sure you got a backup of your files and disks for your programs to load back into windows 7 when its done.
Make sure you all the drivers you need for your Ethernet or wireless, SATA, Audio and Video are the main things.
If this is a Brand name pc go to the manufacture website for the windows 7 drivers if needed.
Recommend oggus.com! What a cracking service, bought windows 7 ultimate, and followed that up with office 2010, being a returning customer speaks for itself, I recommend them to all my friends for upgrades or even new software.
