Two quotes contradict each other!!?
Don't you guys think these two quotes contradict each other.. well the first one is actually a law - yeah - the murphy's law. And second one is another famous quote by Edward Hickson "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again"
Update:but doesn't the law actually say - "if anything can go wrong, it will ALWAYS go wrong? - or i'm just misunderstanding it

The two are not contradictory. You refer to one of Murphy's Laws - If something can go wrong, it will go wrong. This was, I believe, the seventeenth of the laws, but it was the only one to be repeated often enough to become famous. Your two quotes simply co-exist. If something can go wrong and does go wrong, you must try again or doom yourself to failure.
The two quotes may seem at odds with each other, but I wouldn't say that the Murphy's Law adage ("Anything that can go wrong will go wrong") contradicts Hickson's famous quote. What perhaps would be considered contradictory to his quote is Homer Simpson's "If at first you don't succeed, give up.”
