car system problems please help?

i have a jvc head unit and 2 12 inch duel subs. the levels on my amp that you can adjust with a flat head screw driver. i have them turned all the way up. only way i can get the subs to beat. with my jvc head unit when i turn the bass up it turns ALL my speakers bass up the door speakers along w my subs. and it makes it sound like crap i just want to adjust the bass on my subwoofers but turns all the bass up on all the speakers and it sounds bad like they are turned up too high but my subs need to be that high to beat. please let me know what i need to do. do i need to get a new head unit where i can adjust the subs only from the cd player. i hope not. please let me know thanks

    Well depending on the head unit, like on mine, if you go through the settings )like bass, flat, treble, and all) there is a setting for the subwoofers specifically. So try going through your settings or looking in the manual.
