How do you drive a car bought from a private seller?
I'm planning to buy a car from a private seller about 100 miles away from my home. How can I drive the car home without a temporary tag that a dealership would give or insurance on the car?

Depends what country you live in. UK and USA you can get insurance over the phone or online to start immediately even if you're not the owner (may depend on insurance company). I'd strongly advise you have a plan of action to get back home if you get there and you decide you don't want the car. Or alternately take someone with you who has fully comp insurance. They'll more than likely be able to drive the car even if only 3rd party.
Depends on state regs.
You could call you ins co and get instant temp coverage, then have the seller give you a ride to dmv for your registration & temp tags.
