Age of Empires 2 Problem?
Ok so i have decided to start playing Age of Empires 2 again however since i last played it i have received a brand new computer. Now i have Windows Vista. I installed the game without any problems but as soon as i double click the icon to start the game it comes up "Age of Empires II has stopped working" i checked the details and this came up:

This is really annoying me i have tried everything i could find online. I have reinstalled it 4 times i have downloaded the direct x patch, disabled my video card and re-enabled it, downloaded the AoE patch 3 times and nothing works at all please help me!
Update:Alex i have age of empires 3 but i think its a pile of crap, 2 is a much better game imo

I m working vista 64bit had comparable subject with Conquerers. observed that mouse (Kensington) stuttered from time to time so replaced to Logitech and the two problems have long previous away. None of my techie acquaintances can clarify a connection between mouse and pictures? consistent with possibility in simple terms accident.
By age of empires 3, and stop being a cheap bastard and playing old games.
