Do points from a ticket in NJ transfer to your NY license?
I got in an accident on 287 in NJ ( hydroplaned, was going 10 under the speed limit, didnt not damage guard rails, no other cars involved, but my car was totaled and I was not injured) and the police officer issed me a ticket for "careless driving" he said that any accident only involving one car had to be issued a ticket and that if i plead guilty it would be 2 points on my license in Nj. Unfortunatly Im from NY, will points from NJ transfer to NY? And should I plead guilty and just take the points( if they transfer) and pay the fee or can I fight it in court?
Update:*Edit no points do not transfer from all states.
MD and PA to not transer to each other, and the police officer said he wasnt sure if NJ and NY did. Check your facts before making things up.
Also, I hydroplaned because of rain , I obviously am not guilty of careless driving...I was going under speed limit and was not using a phone...

If you are guilty, plead guilty. Any violation in any US state will "transfer" to any license held in any state.
Yes, NJ and NY (and a bunch of other states, too), all share that information, so, yes, those points will show up in both states. Good luck!... :-D
drivers history shows all wherever you do it/cant beat that and its not cheap
