Problem to update directx?

When I install directx (august 2009 redist) I get message "An internal system error occurred.Please refer to Dxerror.log and Directx.log in your windows folder to determine problem."I already google it but cant find the solution..I have win xp sp 2..plz help

    Do a Search for Files & Folders for DXerror.log and Directx.log & read what they say. Which version are you trying to install, and are you installing from Microsoft? For Windows XP you should have DirectX 9c, version10 is for Vista.
