Is this bra size equal to....?

I'm trying to purchase a bra on Aerie right now (free shipping!). I'm a 32A, but for the type of bra and color that I want, that size is gone. The two closest sizes left are 34AA and 34A. I know 34A won't fit, mainly because the cup would be slightly larger since the band is larger. But I was wondering if 34AA would work. 32AA would be too small, but I thought maybe the cup for 34AA would be bigger (enough to equal the cup for 32A) to be more proportional to the 34 band size.

So would the 34AA fit the same as 32A?

Thanks! :)

  • Don't listen to the other posters - you are correct about bra sizing. Assuming the bra runs true to size, 34AA should fit you better than 34A. Whenever you go up in the band, you have to go down a cup size and vice versa.

Generally I don't recommend going up a band size because it makes the bra much less supportive. But since you have smaller breasts, the 34AA might just work for you!

  • Well, for appearance, I would love to be a UK size 30K (US size 30O) - That's the same cup-volume as I have now, but 2 sizes smaller in the band size (aka. 4" slimmer in the mid-section) and I think that would look good. For easy bra shopping, I would like to be in the 30/32 UK size H/HH (US size K/L). That way, all those amazing bras that stop at H or HH would still be available for me, and at a 30/32 band size, pretty much all the brands have that band size as well. If I was to have that small of a cup size, I would want the rest of me to be small as well, though.

  • no, they wont fit.

A isnt huge. but AA means super small, practically non existant boobs. so an AA cup size is an AA cup size, no matter what the band size is. if you order the 34 AA you will just have a bra that is too small on your boobs, and too big of a band size

cause trust me, im a 36 B and a 38 A does nooooooooottt fit me. if the band size changes, that is all that changes

linda, if you are so good at bra sizing, then how come a 36b fits me perfectly (nothing sticking out, nothing too tight, everything smooth, band exactly where it should be) but any time i have tried a 38a my boobs fall out of the cups and the band is loose?

  • no i don't think so, i think the cup size would be too small for you. when you go it a store looking see how the cup size compare. that size is more important. you can always adjust the band size.

  • a is a if its the same bra , the ony thing that changes is the band size. whoever told you that its not was lieing to you
