Programs to protect my laptop...?

Hi! I just got a new laptop for Christmas. I've uninstalled all the useless programs, including the McAfee Anti-Virus. I replaced it with Avast.

Would other programs (free ones please) would improve my computers safety against other harmful things like Spyware. Malware, etc....?

Thanks!

  • Oh you're in luck, I know the best anti-spyware/malware:it's called Malwarebytes anti-malware.It's the best, and if you want full version just e-mail me i know how. :D

  • You forgot one other useless program. Windows. Thousands of dollars worth of open source software is available all for free. To specifically answer your question, Linux will be the most effective solution to spyware and malware issues. Your computer will be faster, more secure, and more fun to use. Even your grandma can figure it out. Unless you are strictly a gamer, then stick with windows and all of its faults (windows has more games). Linux is an operating system for productivity.

  • forget the loose classes. Spending money on Norton internet protection may be the suitable money you have ever spent. this technique continually receives gleaming comments from evaluators. i have been utilizing it solely for 6 years now and characteristic not in any respect had any problems with virus infections or malware on my pc.

  • Go to Cnet and Download AVG Free, Ad Aware Free and advanced system care free version, which fixes registry, junk files and all that, but yea that covers everything. and they actually work, just have to stay on top of your scans and stuff

  • Here is a link to free software all laptop users should have: http://preyproject.com/
