2 algebra word problems?!?!?
Troy bought a worm farm and decided to raise worms to make money. The worm farm cost $110.00 and came with 200 worms and 500 worm capsules, each containing about 4 baby worms. He figures he can sell the worms to bait shops for $1.25 per dozen. How many dozen worms will he have to sell to begin to make a profit? Worms eat table scraps, so there are no food expenses.
Sharon had a black Labrador retriever with an excellent pedigree which she decided to breed so she could sell the puppies to earn money. Her parents said they would loan her the money she needed to cover her expenses until the puppies were sold. She borrowed $500 for stud fees, $150.00 for vet fees, and $80 for food. Her dog had 8 health puppies which she sold for $400.00 each. She paid $25.00 for each puppy for shots and $60.00 for puppy chow, and $25.00 for a heat lamp for the dog house. The ad in the paper cost $12.00 a week and she was happy they all sold in a week. After she paid back her parents for all the expenses, how much profit did she make on the puppies?

for the first question, divide the total cost of $110 by $1.25 to get the break even point of 88 dozen. to make a profit troy actually has to sell 89 dozen worms.
The second question needs to be done in steps. First calculate how much she vspent when the puppies were born. Quick question though, was the sixty for food inclusive or for each puppy?
8(25+60)+25+12 or 8(25)+60+25+12 Then add in the amount while dog was pregnant. 500+150+80.
Answers are either $2173 or $1753 depending on that one question that I asked
x is the 1st even selection x + 2 is the 2nd even selection and x + 4 may be the third even selection all of those numbers upload as much as sixty six so x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) = sixty six 3x + 6 = sixty six 3x = sixty six - 6 3x = 60 x = 60/3 x = 20 So the three numbers are 20, 22, and 24 M = 4S M = 2S + 20 4S = 2S + 20 2S = 20 S = 10 Son = 10 years as a result guy = 40
