Is a Short Prom Dress Appropriate?
At my school, short prom dresses are sort-of frowned-upon. I know that i could make one still look very elegant, though. I just dont have enough money to find a beautiful long dress that I will love and will be under $200. Also, I am a sophmore, and I will be going to my boyfriends junior prom with him. If i wear a short dress, even if it looks awesome, I know even my friends will frown upon it, and I dont want to embarrass my boyfriend, but I know that I will be able to find a beautiful dress for my budget. So.... Short, beautiful, budget-wise, and hated--or-- Long, ugly, cheap, and loved?

You should wear what you feel like wearing. People are always going to "frown" upon those that do things differently. Here's some links for some decently priced "long" prom dresses in case you change your mind. Good luck and have fun
Short dresses are perfectly fine, a lot of girls opt for shorter dresses as opposed to longer ones. Just make sure that the dress is appropriate formal attire, since prom is a formal event. (homecoming would be semi-formal, so go for something a bit fancier than a simple cocktail dress)
I think short dresses are fine as long as they are prom appropriate (not a summer dress or something). you can always dress it up with gloves and jewelry to! you could also ask around for dresses and borrow one. i borrowed one for my junior prom, saved me 200$. Good Luck!
I think a short dress can be beautiful
Well It depends on how you wear the dress and what does it look like ,,, sluttly or elegant for a lady, Other than that a short dress is fine ,,, depending on what it looks like.
