My gum has grown into my brace?

Ok, so the gym on one of my teeth has like, grown or come down or something, and I have braces. It's like, gotten in between the parts of metal where the colored bands would be, and it hurts like crap to eat/brush my teeth.

Should I like, go to the orthodontist now, or is it something I can wait to have checked on at my next appointment in a few weeks?

  • omg... you're not flossing. and don't lie and say you are, cause if you were, this wouldn't be happening. start flossing... you're gonna bleed A LOT! but the more you bleed, the better. so start flossing. maybe it won't be permanent damage.

  • Call for an early appointment. It is most likely you have some plaque or food particle that is causing an inflammation of the tissue creating the appearance that it has grown over the braces. If left unchecked, it is possible that the inflammation can turn into an infection. Don't wait. Better safe than sorry.

  • Oh my goodness.... yes go to ur orthodontist. I know that can hurt. I had braces for 4 n 1/2 years. No fun. No reason for u to be uncomfortable right? So yes go asap n relieve urself from that pain. Best of luck

  • i would think now, if something hurts it means something is wrong.
