My computer has no audio?

Ok so i just purchased a new gateway DX today, i cam home got it set up and working, everything runs fine, except for the fact it wont play audio, i have the volume turned all the way up on the computer and on my speakers, the speakers have power and are plugged into the correct port, the computer even recognizes that i have plugged them in and shows them on the device list, if u launch itunes it says "theres a problem with your audio device configuration," so its definitally not the the speakers (i also tried 3 different other speaker sets) and i looked through my audio settings and everything that is should be turned on is, can somone please help

    If using ITunes is the only audio program you have tried, try using Windows Media Player. If it plays then uninstall and reinstall ITunes. If that doesn't work, then go to the manufacturers website and download the updated drivers for your specific laptop.

    uninstall/reinstall your audio drivers, this usually works.
