  • Yes, your vehicle is OBDII (2), Any OBDII code reader will work. The cheapest ones simply read the codes and shut off the check engine light, and will contain a booklet or have a link to a website with a basic description of the codes, but not necessarily how to diagnose the code. The best ones will actually let you see sensor readings, like the return signal voltage of the TPS, or the cross-counts on your O2 sensor, while the car is operating.

    Actron is one of the better affordable brands, with a full line from basic to fairly advanced models;

  • some show plain english along with the codes. Those are the best. Anything after 1996 will be OBD 2. it is not OBD11, you mean OBD II or 2. If you have no light then forget it. otherwise it is up to you.

  • I have an Actron brand scanner. It scans OB2 and OB1 . OB1 is before 1996 . This scanner tells you the meaning of the code. You can get a free code at a parts store if you can haul your car in .

  • all cars 96 and later are OBD2, doesnt matter if the motors running, if your asking these questions you wouldn't know what to do with the information anyway.
