Migrate to Australia?
Hey, I am a Canadian citizen and have spent a lot of time considering attempting to migrate to Australia. I have always loved the landscape and the people there are very friendly, there are also many great areas for sports like base jumping and skydiving. I would like to move there after college, but have heard a lot of people say it is a difficult country to move to. (Don't know if this is true) Just wondering how I would go about getting a citizenship there. I have around an 80 average so it won't be hard for me to go to college for something in particular if a certain degree will help me get in. Anyways still young but highly interested, any help would be awesome

Riley, you are correct in what you say, about Australia being difficult to immigrate to. You think our immigration laws here in Canada are tough. ours are nothing compared to Australia. Australian Immigration regulations are very stringent, and they have a tougher criteria than ours.
Even after you get your degree in Australia, and that would depend in what field your major is in, it dose not grant you automatic entry. A lot of our students that have gone over to specialize, and get doctorates, have found they had to return back home and apply.
Medicine and Engineering fields are two of the major degrees. One of my doctors from here, is in Australia right now, I think he is at the RPAH, specializing in Cardiology, Specialized Surgeon, we are also close friends. The last time we spoke was a number of weeks back on the phone, while I was in hospital here. He was telling me that the studies in Australia, are of a higher standard that what he has experienced here and in the United States.
You can come on a student visa, or get the needed qualifications in Canada, which is almost certainly the cheaper option. You need to obtain skills in one of the areas on the list Sheila has given you, engineering is a particularly good option to migrate here.
With the right qualifications and skills the process isn't difficult.
MattyB has come here with some sort of an axe to grind. Getting in is the hard bit. Check the Department of Immigration website for details of citizenship, visas and the skilled workers list http://www.immi.gov.au/ .
I emigrated to brisbane 13 years in the past from London uk - i won't provide help to comprehend in words how plenty extra valuable the nicely-known of existence is here. Its in simple terms so sturdy and we choose medical human beings very plenty. a superb 3 mattress room domicile by utilising itself piece of land in Brisbane will fee you very extra or less 250,000 - 3 hundred,000 Australian which in pounds is approximately one hundred sixty,000 - comparable as you will possibly pay to hire the comparable domicile for a month interior the united kingdom at the instant from what I hear.
Getting a citizenship in australia is pretty easy, although the people there aren't very friendly to foreigners especially blacks and asians. When people say it is a difficult country to move to, they mean living there is difficult because getting a job there is tough for a foreigner as they do discriminate against race, its pretty sad though. If you love the beach any city in australia would be just for you as they are all around the coast. There are also some pretty nice scenary and the gold coast is a must see for tourists.
