Naval Academy Chances?

I'm applying for USNA and I'm just wondering what my chances are with some of my following attributes. First off, I'm 17 and in my senior year. I have been on a varsity team since my freshman year, swimming to be exact and I'm extremely physically fit. I maxed out on some things for the Candidate fitness assessment. I have a 3.75 GPA and am in the top 3rd of my class. I've also got NHS under my belt. I am also a Boy Scout and will soon have my Eagle. I'm the current Senior Patrol Leader of my troop, the top guy, and have been to Philmont and Sea Base with them. I also do a lot of volunteer service through my swim team and Boy Scouts as well. I have made things for the less fortunate, planted trees and done conservation projects, and even brought Christmas to wounded soldiers and their families at an Army Medical Hospital. I'm not sure at the moment what else to add but what do y'all think of my chances with these qualities of mine?

  • You could add Sat or Act scores and whether the Gpa is weighted or unweighted and if any varsity letters have been earned or if you are a team captain.

Might be helpful with regard to service academy appointments:

If not appointed, can also go to a service academy prep program. The five military junior colleges offer them and so do other prep schools. Some are pure post grad years and others such as at the military junior colleges offer college credit.

    Good Luck!

  • Hi, Don't put all your eggs in one basket, the Naval Academy is one, West Point is another.I can only wish you the best and having read your resume you have many good qualities, and if it's not the military, some college would benefit by having you on their campus.Good luck, Arnie

  • If those achievements are independently documented, then you must apply to one of your two United States Senators - those are the guys/gals who have to appoint you to Annapolis. Y'sound good to me - but I'm not the one who can appoint you. Good luck, kiddo!

  • Nobody can tell you for sure. Make sure you have taken plenty of APs. Also, join serviceacademyforums.com and ask there, also read this: http://www.serviceacademyforums.com/showthread.php...

    Good luck!

  • Go for it

  • Look's good to me.
