  • Connect PC power plug to UPS output socket

Now connect UPS power cord to wall socket

Turn on UPS and then PC

  • If you're talking about how to hook the UPS up to the PC in order for the UPS to be able to shut the PC down during a power outage, most require a USB cable. Some older models like the one I have use the old style serial port and thus require a serial cable, but if it's a new UPS there's a 99% chance you need to buy a USB cable like this one:

  • -First you need to connect the UPS overnight to charge the battery.

-Normally the UPS comes with instructions of how to connect the battery because the manufacture ship the UPS with the battery inside disconnected.

-Then after the UPS is charge connect the UPS directly to the was WITHOUT using a power strip

-After that connect the CPU and the Monitor to the back of the UPS there is a plug behind the UPS that says SURGE those doesn't provide electricity after a power outages those are only to protect devices normally used for speakers.

-Remember UPS are to protect the CPU after power outages giving you time to save and correctly power off the computer.

  • If you are referring to an uninterruptible power supply, it could not be easier. Plug the UPS into the AC outlet. Plug your computer into the UPS. Voila!
