How do I transfer as a college athlete?
Hello, I'm a freshman playing D3 football. I am interested in going to a D2 program to try and get money off my tuition. I know for a fact I won't get money off my first year there, I obviously have to earn it. I also don't care if I become an NFL prospect, I just want to get money off. But my main concern is that I was only recruited by D3 schools, and I don't have much high school experience. I lettered 2 years in high school, and I don't have any all-state, region, conference, etc selections. That being said, do I stand ANY chance of being taken at a D2 program? If so, how to I apply, and get the coaches to look at me? Thanks in advance.

Ask someone in the Admin Department of the school you want to transfer to..They have counselors that deal with these types of situations.....They will know better than anyone....Good luck....
You'll never get anything if you don't try. that being said, i know in the past, that player would put together a highlight tape, and do their own footwork. Send as as many D2 schools as you can a disk and tell them you are available. Start putting in 175% at ever practice and game as you can too because not all scouts dress in school colors and hang out on the sideline!
To transfer, you must separate from the Division 3 school you are currently attending, and enroll at the Division 2 school you wish to transfer to. Since you are moving up from Division 3 to Division 2, you must sit out one season, before you are eligible to play football for the Division 2 school. However, you will not lose any eligibility for the season you sit out, since it is counted as a redshirt season, which preserves your year of eligibility.
