A poem i did "Blue Blood"?

What do you think? :)

Blue Blood

The icebox beneath, once a heart,

Cool and blue doesn’t beat a slight,

Sly fox self a heart breaker in blight,

Each kiss of lustful impart.

The icebox that freezes beneath,

Shatters! As she falls to pieces,

Snow from the sky that it releases,

A white snow by blue blood wreath.

Blue blood will rain down above,

Tomorrow a colder fate stands,

Still snow white carpets lands,

And does the icy heart of her love.

  • The Icebox, the lady's heart, one that has been frozen through years of heartbreak and insecurities. letting one get close enough to shatter the ice to leave the heart wide open, is a powerful image. I like this and it doesn't matter what the content is ( too the one above that criticised the use of the icebox) for aslong as the poem speaks to you in its imagery it doesn't matter what the written word actually is.

    great!

  • It sounds really good but I might need some explaining...that's not really a bad thing I suppose the meaning of a poem is not supposed to be blindingly obvious. So in the first verse the icebox is a metaphor for her heart, therefore she's cold and unaffected by love?

I don't really understand the last verse though

But nice work anyway I like it

  • It just doesn't make any sense. I think you might have used some words wrong (look up "slight" in line 2). Also, find a more poetic image than an icebox, preferably something that comes from nature (i.e. snow, glacier)

  • i like it, and i don't at the same time.

okay, no i take that back, the only thing i didn't like was the word icebox.

probably because i'm just weird like that.

anyway, i'm not making sense. Its really good.

  • Wow, thats really good. I love it! It's such an interesting concept...

  • I like it!!

    It's like the

    message was

    hidden by the winter..

    (wait does that make sense?)

    L0L.

    Anyways keep the poems

    coming!! =))
