Because you say "slot" I would think that you already have a card reader built in. So put the card into the slot wait a few seconds. Goto Start > My Computer now you should see under the heading 'Devices with removable storage' your card that you have inserted. Double click on this and perhaps copy your files or folder to your hard drive. Or just to see the photos double click on any file.
If your laptop has the slot compatible for your phone memory card( because not all mem card are compatible for any particular slot) then after inserting the card into slot you can access the card content by openning the particular drive from my computer.
But first be sure that your card type is compatible for your slot.
