do you think i need contact lenses?

im gettign older and started to wear rweding glasses a few years ago. my eyes are definetly getting worse. though i dotn need glasses 100%, i do need them 80% becuase just aobut everything i read i need them! im not a gentle perosn and therefore fly thru glasses i.e. scratched lenses, bust nose cusion, ect. i actually use the readers you buy at target, wallgreens, ect. may sound wierd, but i feel my eyes response better to those than an actual perscription.

anyways. more issues with glasses is i always had to keep a pair around no matter where i go(in my jacket, pants, ect) im so done with this.

im intruqued by the contact option day and ight for up to 30 days.

  • Contact will probably be a poor choice for you. Any lens technique be it monovision or bifocal contacts will result in blurrier distance vision than you have now. There is some chance of success but I would bet against it. I could give you a longer answer but think about this, "Would you like to see like you do with your reading glasses all the time?" I am not talking about how you see near objects. I'm talking about how it looks across the room.

  • There are extended wear contact lenses (see source) either for only near correction (+ powers) or for near and far (called multifocal lenses).

Multifocal lenses corrects presbyopia (the condition that occurs when the lens inside your eyes stiffens with age) and have a "rainbow" of powers on the same lens to make the transition for your vision smoother. We recommend to ask your optician for a fitting of sample lenses prior to ordering them online to ensure individual suitability. It will also depend on your eyes whether or not you would use the lenses as continuous wear (overnight) or like normal monthly lenses - again ask your optician.

  • You only need glasses for near. Contacts are made for those who need them for distance vision.

In other words, your visual requirements aren't what contacts are meant to help.

Day and night contacts for up to 30 days are a very problematic issue you don't have to deal with.
