I couldn't vote for Obama because, although he spoke like someone with high ideals of a united America, I believe he meant for everyone to unite behind him and him only. I tried to find out what his lovely words were all about. I looked up interviews with people who knew Obama throughout his life. I found three and they all said they really never knew what Obama stood for. He never took a position on anything.
You could tell throughout the campaign that he had no passion for any subject other than redistribution of wealth and undoing the Bush years. I am getting the idea that the wealth is going to the government, not the people to build their lives on but bureaucratic control over our lives. I do not find that to be motivational.
I don't know how to rate "motivational" but President Obama is a very gifted speaker.
As for the rest, you are encountering a brand new phenomenon: Honesty. You haven't seen it before from a president. You're accustomed to "We're always right, we’ll be welcomed as liberators, the insurgency is in its last throes, and if the President does it, it's not illegal."

His teleprompter speech writer is ok. To bad Obama doesn't think off the cuff. He is a lot more like Bush than people want to think.

to answer your question: yes, obama is a good speaker.
i will vote for substitute each and each of how. by technique of how, whoever wrote that long speach might desire to narrow his or her strategies. that's a lot too long. Why is that massive speach. Make it shorter and there is way too lots info.
That's good news for him. Many ex-presidents make their living giving speeches.
I think those things are what people love about him. He's like a Disney character!!
