How do so many soldiers come home as qualified Vets?

Do the soldiers take courses while in the army to be a qualified vet or ? I thought it was really hard to become a Vet. This doesn't seem fair to the people who have to qualify for University and take 4 years minimum of schooling.

  • How clever, and funny.....you're an idiot.

  • If a person received any discharge above dishonorable, they are qualified as a veteran in my book. There is not really any qualification for such a thing though. If a person joined and served honorably I consider them a veteran. A veteran of a war, as you might expect must have been in country where a war was taking place.

  • The definition of a veteran is ANY person who served in the US armed forces and received either a general or honorable discharge.

During their term of service they MAY have been deployed to an area where to protect YOUR freedom they were shot at, and possibly killed or wounded.

WHY would you think it unfair that a person who is willing to DIE for their country to have certain benefits for doing so; while YOU were SAFE at school?

  • Vet, when referring to military personnel means VETERAN

Vet, when referring to the guy/gal who takes care of animals, means VETERINARIAN

I really hope this isn't a serious question...sadly...it probably is

And to be a Veterinarian takes about 8 years of college followed by a 2-4 year residency

  • do you have no common sense

vet doesnt mean they treat animals anyone that has served in the military is a vet

  • ie there are vets then there combat vets, they all served honorably.............it does make a difference to the VA.............

  • Lol thanks for the laugh and the 2 points xD

  • oh please

you got to be pulling our chain

no one can be that dumb
