Periods, Pregnancy, Miscarriage????please help????
I am 21 years old and suffer from PCOS i don't have the typical symptoms of the disorder except for the extremely irregular periods, other than that i don't fit the discription. I do not have periods every month more like every 6 months to a year but i do have continuous spotting that lasts 3 months long or so. I spotted from Nov until Feb and i noticed Monday i had light spotting with light cramps. I got up yesterday to go to work thinking nothing of it, the cramps were a bit worse then all of a sudden here comes this gush of blood i went home to change by that time the pains were 3 times worse and i was bleeding through super plus tampons within 15-20 minutes along with passing ALOT of clots this all lasted about 2 hours. the pain subsided and the bleeding wasn't as heavy for a couple hours but the bleeding picked back up and i have been soaking super plus tampons every hour for about 23 hours, very mild cramping. Periods are typically always light even when i go a year without one?
Update:I have had several miscarriages. All were kind of like this unbearable pain and extremely heavy bleeding that lasted just an hour or two them resumed as a normal period just a little heavier than usual except with my previous miscarriages i was way farther along. If i were pregnant i would only be 5-6 weeks along. (this time the pain was half as bad as it was with my previous losses)

OK, I have had 4 miscarriages and I'm sorry but what you are describing sound like what I went through the last time. I was passing lots of clots, and was soaking 2 Super pads in about 10-15 minutes. I started with some cramping and slight bleeding and started home and by the time I got there and stood up out of the car it was like a gush that wet through my pants and all. You really should call your doctor because if you are in fact miscarrying than you will need to be monitored to make sure that everything comes out or you may need a d&c. If they offer this to you do it then because it makes things a lot easier on you and your body because the longer it takes your body to get it out the more painful and the more chance of infection. So please call your doctor today. Good luck with everyting.
Hi,
I can sympathies with you also as a sufferer and same symptoms as you when i was your age,
every now and then i was as bad as you are now describing,
from personal experience i went to see my Dr when had one of these bouts was sent to hospital for suspected miscarriage, i didn't at this time,
unless you take any medication for infertility i doubt you was pregnant, but i do suggest you go to your Dr or phone your local hospital, they may have you in.
i also had this and was given a choice of a hysterectomy which i refused, i did have a scrape which helped loads.
i had a baby boy after this 16 years ago which some how helped, then i miscarried then after that my periods came more regular, i have just had my second son after all these years, i do still have pcod but as got better over the years,
but please go some where just to be safe
i had two miscarriage's and two full term pregnancies with all the problems your suffering, when i was at my worse i could not go out for days or even move with out flooding and loosing clots..
hope you get sorted. take care.
good luck.
You definately should call your doctor or go to the ER. I know that might sound extreme to you, but better safe than sorry.
don't use tampons anymore - use a pad. don't through them away until you have spoke to your doctor. keep the pad in a bag. call your doctor. he/she will probably want to do test on the blood. if i was you i would call nhs direct or your doctor asap!
You should be talking to a doctor NOT us
