I think the number of Christians who think Wicca is evil is very small. They tend to be evangelicals who have been lied to by their clergy. There are literally some groups who honestly tell folks that Wiccans worship Satan and crap like that. So folks have this untrue propaganda shoved down their throats and they believe it.
My Traditional Wiccan coven has actually had Lutheran seminary students attend our circles as part of their diversity training, and it's always a lovely experience. They always tell us that our rituals are beautiful and meaningful and they're thankful for the experience.
Care to be specific? Wicca is not specifically mentioned in most popular media with the exception of Buffy and Charmed. Most people mistake any form of Witchcraft portrayed on tv as Wicca, and whether or not they as "Witches" are portrayed as good or evil, [many] Christians will assume they are evil because they are not Christian.
While there might be a few Christian evangelical shows that say Wicca is evil, I wouldn't call them 'the media', and it certainly doesn't seem to be any kind of widespread problem.
Please don't group us all together. I don't care what people believe. I haven't seen anything in the media where evil Wicca adherents are robbing banks, setting fires, taking the legs of spiders and polluting the environment. You would have to cite a source like the Associated Press, Reuters or the Goat and Mail.

Hmmmm...
I can't *remember* ever using the media to do that.
In fact, I don't know of ANY case in which some Christian used the media to do that (though I would suppose some televangelists have done so).
But to answer the question "why": it's because the Christians who have done so believe that Wicca **is evil**.
You shouldn't blame all Christians for the acts of a few!
Where is this going on?

Christians portray everything that isn't Christian as evil. Nothing new here.
Christians believe in magic. They don't like other forms of magic because their holy book tells them that.
But to be clear, their magic is no more or LESS real than yours. It's all bunk.
Wicca is demonic & lame we don't have to use the media to portray it as negative, it does that well on it's own
Christians are trained by God and know exactly what evil is.
Some Xtians are really good at ignorance.
