i have a 2002 toyota celica and for some reason it overheats while im driven but only for about 30 seconds then goes to normal and this happens about everytime i drive it. can anyone help me out?

does the guage immediately go to hot?
does the guage go slowly to hot then settles down?
does the gauage go off the scale?
does it loose any coolant.?
