2003 Dodge Durango brake caliper pins?
I'm trying to replace the brake pads on my 2003 Dodge Durango SLT+ (4.7L), but I'm actually having 2 different problems. The first problem is the manual I have says to apply the C clamp onto the piston to push it out before doing anything with the caliper, but the pictures suck, and there's no obvious placement for the clamp. Am I missing something?
The second problem I'm having is the bolts that I need to remove seem to have pins in them, but I don't know how to remove them. I have then necessary size allen bolt to remove them, but I'm not sure if it might be stripping. Help?

First you turn the screws out like an ordinary bolt and they are a normal thread..lefty loosey, righty tighty, ok? Use one of the old pads to help push the caliper back in, putting the friction side of the pad against the caliper and the metal side toward the c clamp. Just centre it over the piston, with the fixed end against the caliper and turn it in. ok? good luck ps clean up the screws and put some WD 40 or lubriplate on them when you put them back in to keep them free.
try replacing the rubber hose the goes from the frame down to the rear axel the inside is constricting causing a blockage. that is the common denomantor ,it might be the calipers but what are the odds of both of them going bad at the same time!
Kind of hard to explain everything from here. Take it to a Good Station or Brake Shop you Trust. If you ask they will show you everything as they do it.
