I recently got contact lenses...?
I recently got contact lenses and i'm a bit worried about it.I got the soft ones. How do you know which way the contact lense goes because sometimes i don't know if i'm putting it on the right way. Also, Is it supposed to sting and go red at first? It goes normal after. I'm not sure if i can see clearer with them or not, i'm not sure if that has to do with having dirt or something in the lense or not putting them in properly. I only got contact lense in my right eye as it's very bad for everyday and my left eye is great. I'm trying to see if its made a difference. Does the contact lense block some light too?

I had that in the beginning, too, my right eye was bad and my left eye was covering for it, but then my right eye kept getting worse, so I got lenses for it, and then my left eye got bad, too, lol. But it's still not as bad as my right.
About lenses, you can usually see which way they should go if you hold it up and look at the curve. If the curve is nice and round it's the right way, but if it looks like there's a little line breaking the curve, it's wrong. It helps if you take the lense off, clean it and keep it in the same position before putting it in the water.
How long have you had lenses? In the beginning they might sting and be red, but that could also be your eyes getting used to the lenses, or the brand of lense might not be suitable for your eyes. I would recommend going back to your optician and getting that checked out. They shouldn't block light.
The contacts shouldn't block light at all. To make sure you're putting them in the right way, look at the lens from the side.
If it looks like a bowl, it's facing the right way.
If it looks like a bowl with a lip, it's going the wrong way - it's inside out.
A big problem I used to experience was that the contact solution was too harsh for my eyes. Sounds like you have the same problem. There's a solution called Aquify - it is awesome. It's not the cheapest out there, but more than worth it.
Also, make sure you have absolutely clean hands - makeup, hair products, salt and oil from your skin will all irritate your eyes.
When you get the lens in, try closing ou eye immediately, keep it closed, and wiggle your eye around. That will help set the lens.
I've worn lens' for 15 yrs. i luv em' n hate em'. B4 u put it in take the lens in your thumb n finger, gently squeeze ends 2gether if the edges curve in youre good, if they want to curve out try flipping it around. often they sting a little bit when u 1st put them in. im pretty sure they block uv rays
