Why do my dreams feel so real?
For the past 5 months, about 4 nights a week, I have these dreams that literally make me wake up and feel in a daze. Whenever I'm dreaming i feel like i'm awake and just moving around. I can taste things, talk with people, and even feel sensations and things touching me. I had one dream about me running away from something then out of no where i'm falling out of the air and i wake up by falling out of my bed.Whenever i am moving in my dreams, at some points i'm moving in my bed, but i don't sleep walk. The most recent dream was weird. Randomly earlier during the day i got spark up in a conversation about how i thought i was going to die. Now my dream starts off having the same conversion with the same group of people. Then randomly im in a car being chased by another car. Then i pop up in a hospital and am being shot at by random people. I get shot in my arm and can actually feel the pain. Now i wake up when they are throwing me into a trunk of a car. When the slam it shut i wake up breathing heavy and gasping for air. Also where i got shot in my dream is really sore for no reason. I really need some help figuring out why my dreams are like this and how i can fix and stop this from happening.
Update:Just to throw in there, i have in the past two years tried hallucinogens. I have done shrooms the most, about 3 or 4 times. But here recently i tried acid but will never do that again. So i dont know if those affect my dreams but i thought i would mention that.

The random parts are things that are happening in real life, like maybe your licking your hand in your sleep, anthat'sts why it tastes salty. Yousubconsciousus will compensate for what you are feeling in real life and put it in the dream. so it's like an improv show, anthat'sts why it's so random. Maybe you hit your arm on the wall, so the brain takes that feeling and puts it together with a memory from something still fresh in the mind, like an action movie or show you saw, and then takes that and puts it in your dream. I hope I don't sound too weird lmao. As for how to stop this, I would say read before bed, and think about what you want to dream about, and fall asleep to that. Also drugs will efect you dreams so yea.
Dreams seem real because they express our emotions. The meaning of dreams is personal and dependent on your personal experiences
The mind is in control of everything your body does and feels and experiences, It's your mind that makes you dream and so it makes it feel as real as the dream is, even pain and emotion.
