How to start a concluding paragraph?

I am doing an essay on Great Expectations. The topic is; Discuss the ways in which Dickens presents themes of good and evil in Great Expectations. All I need now is a conclusion, but I don't know how to start it besides the obvious "finally.." "in conclusion" in summary" etc. Those are to cliche for me. I want somethign original and sophisticated.

  • It's just your intro changed and concluded. but make sure you introduce the themes. It could be something like : the themes of good and evil in great expectations do this and that

  • I agree that you simply on no account begin a conclusion with "In conclusion" since its moronic. But, to answer your preliminary question: my english instructor used to tell me to truly rephrase my introduction. The introduction used to be an inverted pyramid (normal to thesis) so conclusion will have to be a pyramid (thesis to normal). However, do not write it out verbatim. Probably maintain the primary sentence reasonably identical and then spread out from there. And don't reread your introduction either when you consider that then the conclusion will just sound exactly the equal because the introduction otherwise you would not be in a position to consider of some thing new. Hope this helps!

  • Just begin with the point you made.

"Great expectation clearly has themes both good and evil, and... "

  • You might start with the phrase, "Thus. It may be observed, by the attentive reader....". At this point you would reiterate your opening statement. Make it a concise affermation of what you declared in your introduction.
