i think we might be getting an hp wireless photo printer and we r gonna hook it up wit a cable to the desktop in the playroom which has no wireless. i was wondering if i would be able to print from my wireless laptop as well?????

You can. Instead of leaving the HP on DHCP just set the IP information in the printer to numbers that match what your laptop is using.
the printer will be accessable only if it is logged to your local wireless network in your house i.e. you have to have a network (router,wireless pcs ,printer etc) linked together..Not to hard to do using the set up a local or wireless network wizards on MS software from control panel..
