do nose piercings hurt ?

im getting my nose pierced this summer but i was wondering if i can handle the pain . around 3 months ago, i got my ear cartilage pierced and i found it totally painless, so i wanted to get my nose peirced . rate the pain on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the most painful) also , would it be less painful to get it done with a needle?

  • Depends how sensitive you aree =]

  • its not that bad. stings a bit, any decent piercer will use a needle. 9 times out of 10 if someone is using a gun its because they dont know how to use a needle. so stay away from people doing piercings they dont know how to do!

if someone is using a needle generally speaking they can see what they are doing a lot better so go for that. the pain is pretty much the same either way.

it feels a lot like someone pushing a needle through your nostril! obviously not gonna be pain-free but nobody ever died from the agony of a nose piercing. you'll be fine and it'll only be stingy and sensitive for a couple of days then (if you look after it properly!) you'll have your piercing for as long as you want.

I watched my friend get a clitoral piercing and THAT looked painful but piercing pain never lasts more than a week or two at the very most so go for it if you want it.

the fear of being hurt should never hold you back from what you really want.

  • Yah, make sure the person is EXPERIENCED; that is key. Also, I have heard that a nose piecing hurts less than like a tongue piercing or an ear piercing. I wouldn't imaging that it would hurt a lot since it doesn't seem to be THAT much of a sensitive area. Also, I can't emphasize how important it is to do some research on the place where you will be getting it done because if you're not careful then you might get a very nasty infection and it will probably hurt a million times worse.

  • Usually the pain of getting it pierced is second to none because the process is so quick--it's the healing process that can hurt since your nose will be sore and tender. I don't believe it would be too bad, but be absolutely SURE you get it pierced with a needle. DO NOT let anyone use a piercing gun on you. Frankly, no reputable piercing parlor would even give you any option other than a needle. Good luck!

  • I've had my nose pierced 2 different times (it closed the 1st time) and both times i had it done with a needle. I also have my cartilage pierced too and i actually found that my nose and cartilage piercings hurt about the same. It wont hurt much when you first get it done and it just hurts a little more after but after a couple of days you wont even feel it. Whatever you do dont get your nose pierced with a gun i heard alot of bad things that happened after people had it done with a gun

    hope i helped :)

  • chances are you will have less pain if you go to somebody good and proffesional. because when you got your ears pierced chances are getting it done from the same place wouldnt hurt. the pain scale is 4-6

  • Ooh dont get it with a gun, a needle is sooo much safer, id rate it as a 6/10

depending on how sensitive ure nose is, everyone is diff, but it will be quick

    so dont worry

  • dont get it done with a gun in general, its just bad and places with guns are usually more expensive anyway, tbf it doesnt hurt so much, might make you eyes waer frm the stinging but the 'worst' pain is probly the feeling of gettin a light punch on the nose when your sinuses feel strange

  • well im not sure but my friend got her nose done and said that it hurt a little bit... but the worst part is when its done and you go home soposovly it stings and it hurts to blow your nose 4 like 2 months.... i would say about a 7

  • Worse than having a baby.
