Paypal / Service charges?

Okay.. I recently put 20.00 into my paypal account, andbought something that was around 15 bucks off ebay.. it went through automatically. Then I bought something thats was about 20, but I didnt have enough in my paypal account so i had to wait until it cleared and took the money straight out of my bank account. Anyways, today the payment cleared, but instead of taking out the 20.. it took out 35, and next to it, it saysCURRENT SERVICE CHARGE DR NSF S/C EFT $36.44 .. Now im kinda confused about that because I did also buy something else what was 36.44, but the expected clearing date on that isnt until the 31st.

on my paypal is says the 20 item has been cleared today and the 36 item is still uncleared..

HELP! im so confused..does this mean its going to cost me an extra 15 bucks everytime i use paypal to pay for something?

Update:

And I had enough money in my account to pay for both items.

  • Guess what bud... It cleared before the 31st. Contact PayPal. They will explain it clearly. Sounds like you just need to keep better track of your purchases. PayPal does not charge transaction fees except for credit card purchases and they take it out of the total not additional.

  • Yes, there are service fees for this service (3rd party broker) however, it doesn't work the way you think it does! First of all you can use your pay pal to sell items on auction websites, and you can purchase items using your Pay Pal account - but cannot "transfer" money to a pay pal account - when you sign up for your account - you have to have a regular credit account (visa/master charge) or a ATM card attached to a savings or checking account. Money is withdrawn when you authorize a purchase using your pay pal brokers account (this account provides a 3 rd layer of safety - as it keeps transactions secure.

  • It shouldn't. Paypal is bad about taking money out of your account that it shouldn't have. Go to your account activity and check it.

  • PayPal doesn't charge for credit card charges ( I've been using them for 4 yrs now and have NEVER been charged for anything except what I bought.)

Your bank probably charged PayPal for taking money you didn't have...so they passed it on to you...

You need to learn how to manage money and deal with your acct's. better.

  • You should have looked at the site just below Paypals in the search engine!

  • just another reason to use the old time method of handling money affairs!!!
