Does a pap test hurt?
I'm 16 and I have to get a pap test done in less than a month for the first time. A few of my friends have already went through this and they said that it hurt and that it pinched. I have heard alot of people on this website say that it's "uncomfortable", but what the hell is that supposed to mean? haha.
So, does it hurt?
Update:The reason I have to get it done is because they won't give me another perscription for birth control pills until I get it done.

It's uncomfortable because they stick something like a cold metal or plastic clamp inside your body, and wedge the opening very much open. They have to see inside, so it makes sense. But it does sometimes pinch the outside edges, and it stretches your bits and pieces further than is pleasant, so it's hard to relax.
It shouldn't hurt unless your doctor doesn't know what he or she is doing, even when they use a little brush thing on your cervix. Just be calm and patient, and it will be over so soon you will wonder what on earth you had to go through all that dressing and undressing and discomfort for, since they can't have possibly seen anything useful in that amount of time!
Don't worry about it ahead of time. You'll be fine.

Well, first of all it's going to hurt no matter. what. Make sure to use lube though. And when you're ready to go in, you will have to use a little bit of pressure with your penis, (mutually consenting obviously) because the body's natural reaction is to pull away. It is going to hurt, but it's like ripping a bandaid off. The slower you go, the more it is going to hurt and the longer it is going to hurt. When I had sex the first time I was having a really hard time, but the guy just shoved it in there and it was much easier that way. And you won't be "laying on her". Missionary position is best for a girl who is a virgin. That will make it easier for you to "get in there" And height will not make a difference when it comes to sex. The only thing you have a align is, well, you know. And since you guys are both virgins you probably don't know, when you're having sex it is impossible to control your gas so if it happens don't let it ruin anything. Just disregard it and keep on going.
I dont think that being a virgin or not a virgin has anything to do with it.
The only discomfort I have is when they do the scraping. I mean they are taking a part of you when they scrape.
Its not too bad.
Uncomfortable because you have a man or woman face down there and they are reaching in doing what they do. but I never feel embarrased or a pain.
HONESTLY, I rather go and get a internal done at the gyno then visit the dentist.
I just had my first pap a few months ago, and no, it didn't hurt at all. But then again, I've been having sex for 3 years. If your a virgin, yes, it may hurt. But if your not, it may be uncomfortable, but not painful.
NO it doesn't hurt.... It does just feel exactly like a pinch. You may want to take a little Tylenol or Advil prior to your visit and you will be fine. Don't worry about it, it is actually a very fast procedure and it will be over before you even know it. If you have a woman doctor, they tend to be a little more speedy, in my opinion... Good luck!

When i had sex the first time the guy was a lot more experienced and he fingered me for ages use lube or Vaseline not vaseline if you are using condoms ...he got me so aroused by kissing me cuddling me at at the same time he used his fingers and got me so wet and turned on ....he had broke me in and then used his ........ and it didn't hurt that bad to be honest just be very gentle as for you laying on her .....omg just let nature take its own course you can stand up she can be on top there are so many positions from behind doggy style .... I would say keep it very light hearted and laugh at yourself make it fun Good Luck
Nah, I had my first one in May and it didn't hurt. I felt uneasy because I was nervous but as far as physical pain, all I felt was light cramping similar to a menstrual cramp afterwards. I was scared to death but it really isn't as bad as people say. The more relaxed and still you are the quicker and easier it will be.
It REALLY depends on your pain tolerance. Some people complain about it like it's the end of the world. I find it to be one of the easiest doctor's appointments. The actual time in the exam room is less than 5 minutes.
