If you want to ask what he DID (past tense), it would be:
"¿Qué hiciste ("haces" is present tense, while "hiciste" is the past tense of "hacer"-'to do') durante el descanso de Navidad?", OR "¿Qué hiciste durante las vacaciones de Navidad?" (the second might sound more natural/common to your friend)
I'd be willing to bet that his Christmas break is over, right? So, you probably want to ask what he DID instead of what he's DOING.
For a question, "qué" needs an accent.
The past tense of "haces" is "hiciste."
Descanso is spelt with an S rather than a Z, but I would use las vacaciones.
Navidad is spelt asà (sorry, Spanglish works) and uses an article.
So, the final product:
"¿Qué hiciste durante las vacaciones de la Navidad?"
i might slip the preterit in there
¿Qué hiciste en tu vacación, güey?
It is mostly correct, but the correct answer is...
¿Qué usted hizo durante la Navidad se rompió?
Pronunciation:
k oosted ezo la navidod se rompeo
(Sorry that looks really weird, but you get, I hope)
