Character Names For A Magical/Fantasy Novel?
What names are incredibly magical/fantasy sounding?
Ideally, I would like the names to be similar to those of Harry Potter.
Not similar as in sounding, but so they are unique. Like you would NEVER get someone really called Albus Dumbledore or Salazar Slytherin.

To find more check out celebrity baby names lists. They name their children the strangest things. Also, when you're watching a movie, just sit for a a couple minutes and watch the credits and make note of all the peculiar last names you see.
When my children were growing up and wanted names for their fairy stories, I used to ask them to think of a name that coincide with the story, then change the letters around.no need to use all the letters e.g.,
Wicked witch = dewichik
Godmother = thomdre
Worthless person = loth weltose
Not only are your names original, it will save you scratching your head for ideas.
I'm sure you can do better but these are are just examples.
My children are pretty much grown up now and my daughter has had her first book published, she tells me that when she is stuck for names, she remembers the above.
