Bo' Selecta why would you do that if it sees the neighbors?
right click on networks, try finding it there, might have to disconnect and re connect. Might try ethernet cable just to make sure its working, might have a wireless adapter problem. good luck
Try rebooting the router, unplug the power and plug it back in. Sounds like the wireless side of it has locked up. If that doesn't work then try a factory reset and reconfigure it if it still doesn't show up chances are the radio in the wireless side is burned out, replace it. I recommend a Linksys router as I've used them for years and years and hav the least problems of all the brands out there and they have friendliest interface available as well.
Ensure your DSL router [MAKE? && MODEL?] has wireless enabled.

Post the MAKE && MODEL of the DSL router for specific instructions to enable wireless && trouble-shoot the problem.
I think you mean one of your computers has a problem... follow the first advice more than likely...
control panel / network and internet / setup file sharing / turn on network discovery
