  • Both the 2002 corvette and 2000 camaro V8 versions, came equipped with the same engine, a 5.7L LS1. the 2002 corvette would benefit from better tuning, dual exhaust, and a better intake than the 2000 camaro.

You didn't mention if either/both were stick or automatic? an automatic is easier to drag (from a stop) so if yours is stick and his is an automatic, it might be closer, but you would still pull on the backend.

He should know better- either he's a dope, or I have a feeling that he might have some modifications that you're not going to see even if you look at the engine.

  • Depends on what is under the hood...your car might be lighter, have better suspension, brakes and etc...but the Camaro Z 28 and SS have the same engine as a Vette...347 cid V8...same 6 speed transmission..I seriously doubt his Camaro is stock...very few are...he might have a aftermarket intercooler, turbo or supercharger, upgraded suspension...coilovers and shocks..better exhaust but no fancy paint job, ground effects kit, or rims...he might also be a better driver than you...most Vette buyers are not serious about performance...like a true hotrodder...they think they bought a car that can smoke anything on the street...in essence , for half the price...you could have had a car with the same engine and transmission...it depends on the driver, I think he's got a computer management chip....he might have a F-body Vette..the vette and Camaro share so many mechanics..in all logic, you should win but if he's tuned better..you will get smoked.

  • If the Camaro has ridiculous power he might beat you, but the Corvette has better aerodynamics and is lighter it also depends on driver skill as well.

  • If he has an SS camaro then NO. It was modified by a company in Oshawa both engine and suspension and the SS, got a better 0-60 time than the Vette

  • Depends on the engines. Stock doesnt officially mean that there is only one engine possiblility. I'm pretty sure a V-8 corvette would smoke a V-8 camaro anyday though.

  • The Corvette should win stock-for-stock. But the car doesn't drive itself. Driver skill plays the deciding role in this match-up.

If you do race take it to the track. Keep our public roads safe.

  • A corvette would smoke a camaro i dont care whos driving. There is nothing special at all about camaros these days, there just another car. But the corvette however still remains a legend.

  • depends on the driver. You could drive a Lamborghini and he could drive a 1930 Ford Model A and still beat you if you didnt know how to drive it. But assuming yall are equal drivers you would win.

  • Theres no point in asking if you would win.The only way to know is to race him.You obviously know nothing about racing so I would say you will probably lose. These cars run very close as far as times so I wouldnt act as though theres no way you could possibly lose.

  • youre right, hes wrong, get over it

corvette has a higher state of tune, lower weight and better weight distribution than a camaro
