Does a signal support system specialist have to do infantry?
Does a signal support system spec have anything to do with infantry? Do we actually have to go out there and "fight"?

Signal communicators are required to be proficient in basic weaponry, such as the rifle and pistol, but will not act as infantrymen in their duties. There could be times when a communicator will have to act in perimeter defense, such as what happened in Vietnam and other places.
Fixed and tactical communications centers usually have a contingent force to assist in defense, but every communicator must expect to be ready to help.
No. You're there to fix their radios when they don't work. Every battalion has a commo section So you setup your stuff with the battalion maint group and work on fixing radios.
you do what your job is. if it's infantry you go out and fight. if your a radio operator, you operate your radio. but if your base or position is going to be over run you fight with everyone else.
No.....BUT...if your unit is say running dual COPs, you will have to sometimes go out in a convoy to fix their stuff that doesn't work. If you so happen to take contact...your going to fight.
