Manny to Marlins makes no sense?
he doesnt play defense, he doesnt run as hard as he can all he does is hit, which the marlins can already do..they need relief help and a catcher, theres no reason to give up what they are reportedly giving for a 2 month rental that wont really make a difference in baseball terms
Update:mike stanton has 27 hr in single a and he has way too much potential to trade away in a deal like this
as do tucker and hermida

the club owner already said today that its not happening and manny will not be going to the marlins today
"Hours after Marlins president David Samson said anything is possible, club owner Jeffrey Loria denied a deal was in place that would send Ramirez to Florida as part of a three-team trade."

thats the whole article..plus i agree that manny would be a poor fit in Florida. One of the biggest outfields as far as room to cover and you want to take a guy who can barely play left field in the easiest left field in MLB?? that wouldve been a poor decision on the Marlins part
Marlins get Manny, $7 Million, 2 draft picks after Manny declines arbitration
Pirates get Hermida, Tucker, Red Sox Prospect
Red Sox get Bay, Grabow
It makes perfect sense. Marlins get a free Manny Ramirez, and much more fans in the stands, and if it doesn't work out they only have him for a year. Yes they lose tucker but they get two draft picks also. Marlins are balking at Stantion and the Red Sox NEEEEED to do this so they will ship a prospect instead to get it done. Bay coming to the sox is such a blessing(my bet is he will be a lifer sox from now on if this goes through). And well the Pirates suck so they build to the future as usual
makes sense to Marlins and manny, especially. He has a house in South Florida and would be quite content. Though with what I am hearing now, this trade doesnt look as if it would go through. I think teams are cautious with Manny. In the back of their minds, I dont think they want to risk any negative behavior from him, in a positive atmosphere.
I don't know what the Marlins are thinking but I'm just happy that they are taking him away from the Red Sox
im sry but who was that left fielder that made that sick catch at the wall, jumped up the wall, high-fived a fan, and then threw out the runner on first? oh ya, manny ramirez... who is one of the greatest hitters of all time? MANNY RAMIREZ
