Maths Algebra/calculus Help?

I need help with this question

Expand and simplify

4(2x + 5) + 2(3x − 2)

I know how to expand when theres only two sets of brackets nothing inbetween eg (x+ )(x+)

But i dont get it because of the +2 in between can some one please help me 10 stars for correct aswer

    = 8x + 20 + 6x - 4

    = 14x + 16

    Answer: 14x + 16 OR 2(7x + 8)

  • 2 (8 + 7 x)

    16 + 14 x

  • Treat each half of the equation as different things to expand. That is, you're dealing with two problems at first:

    4(2x + 5)

    and

    2(3x - 2)

    After you expand both of them, you add them together.
