Maths Algebra/calculus Help?
I need help with this question
Expand and simplify
4(2x + 5) + 2(3x − 2)
I know how to expand when theres only two sets of brackets nothing inbetween eg (x+ )(x+)
But i dont get it because of the +2 in between can some one please help me 10 stars for correct aswer
Comments
= 4(2x + 5) + 2(3x - 2)
= 8x + 20 + 6x - 4
= 14x + 16
Answer: 14x + 16 OR 2(7x + 8)
2 (8 + 7 x)
16 + 14 x
Treat each half of the equation as different things to expand. That is, you're dealing with two problems at first:
4(2x + 5)
and
2(3x - 2)
After you expand both of them, you add them together.
