  • As you get older, you will go through experiences similar to what your dad is going through now, and then you will understand.

There is not much that you could probably do for him right now. He has to grieve, and have the emotions, and once he is done with that he will return to the same person he always was. It is hard to lose a relationship, so right now, just let him cry. Do not try to tell him how to fix things, and do not go out of your way to make him extremely happy, because it is not going to happen.

Just gives him hugs, and tell him you love him, and that you hate seeing him so unhappy and that you are there for him. He is not going to want to talk to you about his issues because you are his daughter, not his friend... and you are too young to be involved with these kinds of things.

Ask him what he is going to be up to while you are at your mums, and ask him if he would like you to maybe stay with him instead. I am sure that because he is a full grown adult he will be able to take care of this himself. Its great that you are concerned about your father, but it is not your responsibility to make him feel better.

  • I totally understand where you are coming from. Is there any way that you can postpone going to your Mother's house for a couple weeks? Right now, your Father could really use your support and needs to have you close to him for a while.
