Wicca has no gods?

A "Christian-Wiccan" posted that Wicca has no gods in an answer here

I was wondering just when that happened

  • And she calls herself a Wiccan priestess for 10+ years! LOL!

Priestess my eye. Probably read one Silver Ravenwolf's terrible "insta-witch" books and *poof* at the end of the book, she's a high priestess!

That poster is what is called a "fluffy bunny"--willfully ignorant of the facts, yet believe they possess an encyclopedic knowledge of Wicca and witchcraft, and attack anyone who tries to educate them.

Anyway, I got a good laugh out of that post, and I'm sure plenty of other people did, too.

@ Krystle--Where did you get your "information?" A Jack Chick tract? Wiccans do not now, nor have ever, acknowledged your "Satan." Get the facts before you make a fool out of yourself again.

  • You have been a practicing wiccan for 15 years and found no conflict arising with this set of beliefs? I am not a Wiccan, but i know enough to understand that this is simply not possible at all. It disturbs me, as a Witch, when people come on here, and talk about combining Christian beliefs with paganism etc. This is because Christianity is monotheistic and therefore cannot carry a belief in a Goddess and God figure in any way, also, it is an Abrahamic religion, you must understand this, follow that line back, see where it leads you, please. I also as a practicing Witch find it unsettling that folks need to include this religion that has simply walked across native practices with such disregard, and try to link it to paganism/neo paganism, or witchcraft in any way. I know there are folks on here who will argue with me on this, but i am going to stick my neck on the block and say, yet again.. under no circumstances that I am aware of can anyone involved in pagan or witchcraft related spirituality's and or religions also be involved in Christianity.

  • answer: I think that's someone that went way overboard on that "all the gods and goddesses are only aspects of a divine" thingy. Totally out to lunch in my opinion - which probably doesn't count for much.

I'm an Asatruar and we don't believe in the "aspect" thing.

Personally, not sure why someone would be Wiccan and Xtian, even if they can twist the beliefs and mind and make it work for them. The Xtian deity and religion is almost totally opposite of what Wicca is.

  • I can't find the answer that said that - I'm assuming it's been deleted, but I see all the other answers referencing it.

When did this happen? I have no idea, but it happened only in that persons head. This is my position on this Christian-Wicca business - anyone who claims to be such a thing is neither. End of story.

  • umm, excuse me??? Did I miss the meeting? Was I too late yet again !?!? *scratches head*

Last I looked , there WERE gods in Wicca.

Whenever someone asks me if I believe in God, I say, * with a twinkle in my eye * yes, of course!! Which ones?"

that usually gets them, and they leave me alone.

I believe in the Celtic Gods, the Native American ones, The Greek, the Egyptian.....

yes there are gods in Wicca !!

*sheesh!* I tell ya, fluffy bunnies abounding!

    * WHO LET THE BUNNIES OUT? WHO? WHO?"

  • Whispers?

This person obviously doesn't know anything about Wicca if they are claiming that Wiccans don't believe in any Gods.

    HA HA HA!!!

  • Do you think Inanimate and Heathen are laying on the same bed looking at each other ...??? Sorry sometimes the 12 year old boy in me slips out ...

    But I digress ...

Yes ... that is an interesting question ... I must have missed it too ...

EDIT- Krystle ... if you'd like to catch a clue ... I can help ...

  • It was in the news. The gods went on strike and are still picketing. However, the story was pushed to page 3 on account of the writer's strike.

We've just tried to be understanding about the whole thing.

    </sarcasm>

  • Wow

Makes you wonder what the God and Goddess think about that. That was a really uninformed statement that person made.

I'm started to agree more and more that thosetwo should never be mixed.

  • lol. What a load of crap. And that, dear people, is what we call "fluffy bunnies". They don't even know anything at all about Wicca but think its cool to call themselves one.
