Who is a famous astronomer?
He has to be one of the Famous Astronomers who was murdered, or death was unknown or something like that. But if you don't know any who were murdered, any random names you could toss at me? That would be awesome!
Update:Was Kopernik murdered? Any details you could give me on him?

Ulugh Beg (1394-1449) was murdered by an assassin hired by his son. He more famous for his title as he was a local Prince/Sultan.

I am not aware of any other astronomers that have been murdered.
The only famous astronomer I know of who might have been murdered was Tycho Brahe. There is a book, Heavenly Intrigue by Joshua and Anne-Lee Gilder, which argues that Tycho was murdered by Kepler in order to gain access to his data.
