Does a nose peircing hurt?

I wanna get my nose peirced. Does it hurt ?! It hurt when I got my ears peirced:o lol but also, which side should I get peirced? How big will the hole be if I take the nose ring out bc theyre not allowed at work? I just want something small. Regular. Nothing crazy.

  • I have a medium pain tolerance and have had my nose pierced twice.

The first time, it was frozen and so it was just a bit of a dull ache, nothing i couldn't deal with.

For various reasons that closed up and i had it pierced on the other side, but they didn't freeze facial piercings anymore, and if i'm brutally honest, it hurt like a b****.

I will warn you though, the pain of having it pierced fades after a couple of hours, but when you knock it or move the stud, it will hurt. I had mine in for a year, and even after all that time it hurt to take it out/put it in.

The hole isn't big at all, and isn't that noticeable when you haven't got a stud/ring in.

  • Depends what size studs/ring you keep in it as to the size of the hole. I only have thin ones so when I take mine out its hardly noticeable.

Do you mean your ear lobes hurt?!?! Then your nose will definitely hurt more, but as a person that has had microdermals and skin divers done I dont remember my nose hurting much at all (but that was a few years ago!). It will be over in a second anyway providing you go to a decent piercist.

Which side you have it on is ersonal preference, I had mine done on my right because I have The top of my ear done twice on the left, so it just balanced it out a bit :]

You will have to have the piercing in for a while before you can take it out at work for a while. Mine took a few months before I could do it comfortably. However you can get clear studs called retainers that are so you can wear them at work and not get in trouble.

If you do get it done and use studs, always keep a spare in your purse im always flicking mine out at the stables and there tiny buggers to find! x

  • Everyone has a different pain tolerance, but the nose piercing shouldn't hurt any more than your ears did. If you have hair that falls to one side of your face I would pierce my nose on the opposite side.

My bangs are swept to the left so I would pierce my right nostril.

The hole will hardly be noticeable if you are pierced with a standard sized needle.

Nose piercings are very cute. Hope you like it if you get it (:
