How do you factor 6x²-17x-14?

Can it even be factored?

  • Hi,

    6x² - 17x - 14 =

    (2x - 7)(3x + 2) <==ANSWER

    I hope that helps!! :-)

  • Just ask 3 items at a time others are competing with time 1)3x² + 10 x - 8 = (3x - 2 ) ( x + 4) 2)5x² + 17x + 6 = (5 x+ 2 ) (x + 3)

  • Delta = 289 + 24*14 = 625

    Sqr (delta) = 25

    x1 = (17 - 25) / 12 = -8/12 = -2/3

    x2 = (17 + 25) / 12 = 42/12 = 21/6 = 7/2

    6 * (x + 2/3) * (x - 7/2) = (3x + 2) * (2x - 7)

  • Try http://www.algebrahelp.com/ they offer a lot of helpful tips/calculators that I used when I took algebra II.

    If the calculators come up with an unexpected error, that means the expression can't be factored. :)

  • (3x+2)(2x-7)

    hope this helps! I know a bunch of ppl above me already posted, but yeahh (:

  • (3x + 2) (2x - 7)

  • (3x+2) (2x-7)

  • yes

    (3x+2)(2x-7)

    trust me

    I'm asian. I would know

    hahah

  • (3x+2)(2x-7)

  • (3x+2)(2x-7)
