do memory foam mattresses eventually flatten?

i really want a memory foam mattress. my current mattress is just so worn down. my back always hurts. i want a memory foam because i have an odd spine. i was thinking about this one. i need a new mattress - so no suggestions about mattress toppers XP http://www.sleepys.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/P...

i know it's kind of cheap. so my question is, will it eventually sag? i want a really supportive one. also any more advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance. :)

  • Mattresses and Boxsprings use Polyurethane Foam. They often fail quickly. Do a search for What’s the Best Mattress.

I like memory foam it is essentially PU foam on steroids. However all is not created equal. Some use inferior material as compared to the industry leader Tempur Pedic so be careful. I am partial to two brands that knock Tempur Pedic for less money. Ecomfort Eco Freindly Memory Foam and Isotonic Memory Foam. I would only add that you can Check out reviews for Sleepy's and check out this article that talks about Top Ten Problems With Memory Foam http://www.stlbeds.com/articles/2008/01/28/top-ten...

  • The firmer it is the more expensive so I'd say if you want their firmest you're going to pay their top price. Also buying a mattress without trying it is like what my grandma called "Buying a pig in a poke". When you open the poke (sack) the only squealing may be your own squeal of unhappiness. I bought the firmest posturpedic memory foam for about the same price and they threw in two memory foam pillows plus they brought it in, set it up and took the old mattress and box springs away. Speaking of which I didn't see any box springs with those on line and by the time you get a natching box springs and delivery charges you aren't going to save a dime.

  • All foam will eventually break down. The best beds made are air beds. Sleep Number, iSleep or Comfortaire. The Comfortaire is the least expensive because they don't do as much heavy advertising. These beds do not break down because you are sleeping on an air chamber. They come with a variety of options like memory foam matress toppers but I just bought the cheapy, bottom of the line bed and bought a mattress topper at Costco. You will be so much happier with an airbed than a memory foam!

  • Memory foam shouldn't flatten or sag. My memory foam pillow is exactly the same as it was the day I bought it and I really want to buy a memory foam mattress. I like this selection: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Memory-Foam/M...

  • be sure to lay on for a while before you buy it,, those foam mattresses are firmer than most realize, and when you try to get up out of them,, your struggling some to get out of a hole and you may be putting pressure in a odd area of your ribs/spine..... so when you try one out,, actually lay there for about 5 minutes or more to see how it does for you,,, after you buy it,,,its too late to send one back......sometimes adding a latex topper can soften them up a bit.,,,best laying mattress I ever laid on was a therapedic pillow top but forgot what model it was,,but it cost about 600 in queen.,,,expect to pay at least 500 or more for anything any good in queen.,,,, and get you a good frame with center support to put it on or it will bow in middle.
