Can fake and OEM Pokemon games trade?

I have two concerns about GBA Pokemon games.

My friend recently bought some fake Pokemon games (third gen) on the internet. I own some older versions and I'm currently shopping to buy a third gen version too. We'd like to trade, but I am unsure if it is possible or not, so, my question is : can fake and OEM games trade with authentic ones (and is it safe for the original)?

I found a few good offers and questioned the sellers about the product. There's pretty much only two offers who stand out : one in which the seller says he "believes" that the game is authentic (he sent me pictures of front/back/inside, I can confirm it's not a fake, might be OEM) and one which the seller clearly told me that it was an OEM version. Question is : will OEM games have the "deleting save file" problem and other similar fake-like copy problems?

    If its cheap, sounds too good to be true and you think it could be a fake - then don't touch it. Dealing in fake goods is a crime as is knowingly buying them so don't do it.
