How do I use a downloaded font?

Whenever I try to install my downloaded font a little thing pops up and says "Yummah Strawberries is being used by another program in the system,please wait until windows is finished with the file and then try again"

What do I do?

    Try and copy the file into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

    If that doesn't work, move the font file to your desktop, restart your computer, then try to install or copy it again.

    Also make sure you have extracted the zip file which you downloaded, because most fonts from sites like dafont.com come in zip packages which have to be extracted first :)
