  • Most brake warning tabs first begin to squeak in reverse and only when you have gone too far do you hear this high pitched noise when in the forward gears. If the noise stops when you brake (you are pushing down the tab) you are being warned that the pads are at the end of their life.

Other squeaks can come from belts, bearings, suspension, exhaust, almost any source. If your certain it's in the wheel area probably pads.

  • Your brake pads need replacing! Many brake shoes are designed to squeal when they get low and that way you will know to change them before you mess up a perfectly good brake rotor!

  • Sounds like the brakes are worn and metal parts are rubbing. Get them inspected soon. Either pull the tires yourself or take the car someplace.

  • brake pad warning sensors it needs brakes

  • it could be brake dust or a wheel bearing.

  • do you hear it when you are walking?
